I have grown my business from nothing into something pretty amazing. I have poured my heart into it. I’ve given it my time, my energy, blood, sweat, and so many tears. Unfortunately it has come to a point in my life where I’m giving my business more than I’m giving my family. My kids are growing up too quickly and I am missing it.
All the nights shooting families and seniors and babies and bumps. All the weekends shooting love story after love story, I would not change a thing about it. I love photography and I love my clients and I couldn’t have done this without you. All of this being said, I miss my family. My kids have started doing all sorts of activities of which I continue to miss. My family has gatherings and birthday parties for my nieces and nephews, that I haven’t been to in years. There’s something to be said for a business so successful that it takes all of your time, that being said I am shutting One Thousand Words Photography down.
I will keep my photography page up. I love looking at my Facebook memories and I want my clients to be able to do so as well. I will have a disclaimer on it stating that I am no longer actively in business but it’s always nice to look through the past.
I love photography and I don’t see this as being a definitive end for me. But truth be told I’m burnt out, I miss my children, and running a business is just plain hard. I shoot nights and weekends and I edit Monday through Friday during the day. I always try to have quick responses and be as helpful to my clients as possible. I wouldn’t run my business any other way but that takes a lot out of a person.
If you’ve made it this far, I want to say I appreciate every single one of my clients, all of the referrals, all of the support, I’m going to miss my repeat customers and our time spent together. Hopefully we still keep in touch and I am eternally grateful for you all.

FAQ
Will there be a second shooter?
If your package includes a second shooter they will be there providing coverage the entire time I am. They will be selected by me and be of professional quality.
Is there a travel fee?
Yes, anything over 30 miles is $1.35 per mile. If the Venue is 3 or more hours away, lodging for myself and my second shooter is also required.
What kind of gear do you use?
I shoot with a one Full Frame Canon Camera and One mirrorless Sony. I have bounce flashes and a soft box for indoor pictures if necessary. No shiny flash faces for you!
Do I have to order prints through you?
No. You are under no obligation to order prints from me. You may order from the online gallery you receive. It is highly recommended but not required. They offer a high quality print lab, prints, canvases, and more.
Do you need a seat at the reception?
Yes. Myself and my second shooter will not take photos during dinner. This is the ONLY down time we take during your day. Plus no one wants pictures of themselves eating. We will both require a seat and a meal.
How soon will I get my pictures back?
Turn around time for wedding galleries is 6-8 weeks depending on the season. These will be delivered to you via online gallery as soon as completed with your own keepsake zip drive mailed within one week.
Blog posts are typically completed within one - two weeks.
When is my balance due?
Each Wedding package requires a $750 retainer with signed contract. The balance is due 10 days before the wedding. At that time we will sit down together and go over your timeline plus any last minute details, questions, or concerns.
